Why does your hair fall out with chemo?

What makes someone's hair fall out during chemo?
Answer:
The truth is in the way chemo works. Chemo is a toxin that is taken up by all cells in the body and causes them to have difficulty in dividing and they die off. Cancer cells divide faster than most of the cells in your body therefore they are affected more than most of the other type of cells in the body. Unfortunately hair also divides fairly rapidly so it is also affected by chemotherapy (as are the gums).
Lack of vitamins caused by stress, check out the Pretikan diet, 405-753-WELL will cure the cancer
NOT EVERY TYPE OF CHEMO CAUSES LOSS OF HAIR. IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF CHEMO, ORAL OR IV, AND THE TYPE OF CANCER.
your hair falls out because chemo therapy kills bad cancer cells but it can also kill the good ones which help your body's ammune system. so when it kills your good cells your hair falls out.
because chemo is toxic to all cells, just more toxic to cancer cells. Hair follicles are sensitive and they become unresponsive.
Hi! Hair falls out because the body can't handle the overload with toxins and Glutathione levels go down. Glutathione is a molecule found and produced in every cell of the body. It is responsible for the proper functioning of the immune system, detoxification, recycling of antioxidants and several other things. In a nutshell, Glutathione is the first line defense against diseases and toxins. Best resource of information is in the book "Glutathione. Your body's most powerful protector" by Jimmy Gutman, MD, researcher and emergency physician. Chapter 5 of this book addresses Cancer and the role of Glutathione in cancer prevention, treatments and recovery. This is not just empty words, you can find over 80,000 medical articles on www.pubmed.gov concerning glutathione and over 10,000 for the combination 鈥淕lutathione cancer 鈥? This website is the national depository of published medical articles. Product Immunocal is clinically proven to raise Glutathione levels naturally, it has 7 method of use patents including Patent # 5,888,552 dated 3-30-1999 that reads Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Compositions Containing Whey Protein Concentrate, and is listed in the U.S. Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) and the Pharmacist鈥檚 Red Book. Hope this all answers your question. Olga
since my father has cancer i know a lot about it. The hair falls out because chemotherapy is toxic. it kill a lot of cells in your body such as white blood cells and hair. Certain chemotherapy does not make hair fall out. If you or someone else is on chemotherapy and there hair is falling out it is because the chemo is looking for the tumor and i kills your hiar since it is one of the weakest cells in your body.
Chemotherapy works by targeting cells that are dividing rapidly. Rate of growth is one of the major differences between normal cells and cancerous. Unfortunately, this also kills other cells that divide rapidly, including hair follicles.
