Why does it hurt when I breathe deeply? Pain deep in throat area.?

When i breath deeply the back of my throat hurts. much like it would be if it were bruised. it's deeper down than where a sore throat would be, it feels like it's down in the esophagus (technically i think it would be the trachea), but my lungs do not hurt. anyone have any idea what this may be? This is day #2 with pain. only hurts when i breath deeply or get my heart rate up. im usually a moderately active person, busy with school (finals this week, not very stressed tho), eat alright (but drink way too much soda). no medical conditions, allergies, or medications i'm taking.
Answer:
If the pain doesn't go away in a few days, you should see a doctor. If the pain becomes so bad that you can't eat, sleep, etc., you need to go to the emergency room ASAP.The rest is just speculation on our part. I doubt that most (if any) of the people answering this question will be doctors.
It's a long shot, but it could be pneumomediastinum--free air in the chest. Consider it if you've been coughing or sneezing hard, and have a history of smoking (tobaccor or otherwise), or other pulmonary problems.
you may have a lung disease or just because of the weather change. It is probably nothing serious so i don't think it is anything to stress out about or worry about. Maybe if it hurts for a while, talk to a doctor.Nikki
