How can so called rns etc.think a yeast infection cannot and will not be sexully transmitted are you crazy!Anything and everything can and will be transmitted one way or the other.None of us on here are doctors, lawyers with phds etc.The object of this is for honest truthful answers this is why ther is so much confusion in the young minds that come on here and ask a serious question.Look Rns take a class for about 6 weeks and they get certified they work in different facilities from nursing homes etc.they dont have the authority to give any medical advice they only give what the physician says. Not saying some RNs have not seen it all etc. but they have not attended a medical school etc for the many years a doctor has.So what do you guys think of some of the info you get from the RNs on this site?
Answer:
a yeast inf is NOT an STD but it can be transmitted from one person to another by sex... its the same as jock itch for a man.. it can be passed continually if neither partner is treated.
I wouldn't listen to anyone on here.I'd go to my doctor.I do however believe that both men and women can get yeast infections.but no...there not sexually transmitted...i've had one and didn't pass it on to my partner
Seeing as how I haven't gotten any advice from any RN's on this site, I don't know. I agree with you that yeast infections can be sexually transmitted. I disagree, however, that ALL things can (ie: kidney infections).
vaginal yeast infections are caused by Candida albicans, which, along with a few types of bacteria, are normally present in relatively small numbers in your crotch. sometimes the yeast multiply rapidly and take over, causing a full-fledged yeast infection, or, in the heart-warming terminology of the medical establishment, candidiasis or monilia. this can be due to a change in the vaginal environment, injury, sexual transmission, or HIV. common environmental disruptions that favor yeast include increased pH, increased heat and moisture, allergic reactions, elevated sugar levels, hormonal fluxes, and reductions in the populations of bacteria that are normally present.
While they are not a std they can be passed on even if you use the same wash cloth or towel and it did not have the chance to dry and time for the Yeast to die.For the people that did not pass it on some people their with the way their system is the yeast can not grow well.Yeast needs a dark / warm/ moist place to grow so for that very reason it is harder for men to get it but not impossible.
First, to become an RN takes more than 6 weeks. It's quite extensive, You may be talking about how long it takes to become a medical assistant, big difference. As far as why they say a yeast infection is not sexually transmitted, is because the male does not get yeast infection on his penis. Women get yeast due to an imbalance in the vaginal flora due to stress , excess moisture and sometimes antibiotic treatment. Women don't get yeast infection from having sex with their male partner who has a yeast infection. Can you imagine if every time a woman got a yeast infection, a woman blamed her partner for giving her an STD? There would be a lot of guys in the doghouse. and a lot of girls thinking their boyfriends cheated. By the way, I'm not an RN
