Why do people get skin boils? I used to get them like 1 a year as a kid, now my son gets them 1 a year.?

Answer:
It could be one many reasons .
My son used to get them an a regular basis on his eyelids as well.
Known as styes
It was his blood that was out of order.
It also could be an infection of an existing sore that has acquired a germ in it.
My advice would be to see your Doctor and arrange a blood test .
He will advise you from that point .
um.. you could have herpes and passed on to ur son thorugh genetics
What is a boil? A boil, also referred to as a skin abscess, is a localized infection deep in the skin. A boil generally starts as a reddened, tender area. Over time, the area becomes firm and hard. Eventually, the center of the abscess softens and becomes filled with infection-fighting white blood cells that the body sends from the blood stream to eradicate the infection. This collection of white blood cells, bacteria, and proteins is known as pus. Finally, the pus "forms a head," which can be surgically opened or spontaneously drain out through the surface of the skin. Who is most likely to develop a boil? Anyone can develop a boil. However, people with certain illnesses or medications that impair the the body's immune system (the natural defense system against foreign materials or microbes) are more likely to develop boils. Among the illnesses that can be associated with impaired immune systems are diabetes and kidney failure. Diseases, such as hypogammaglobulinemia, that are associated with deficiencies in the normal immune system can increase the tendency to develop boils. Many medications can suppress the normal immune system and increase the risk of developing boils. These medications include cortisone medications (prednisone and prednisolone) and medications used for cancer chemotherapy.
my husband has these but has them all the time, his gp sent him to a dermotoligest and was dignosed with a rare skin condition, i am not saying your son has this but it maybe an idea to see a spelislest, as it maybe able to be knocked on its head early, i wish you all the best
Often times boils are simply caused by too much acid in the body. Make sure your sons intake of sodas etc... is at a minimum or none at all. If that's not an issue or doesn't help I'd see a dermatologist.Good luck.
Rod.
It is a caused by a bacteria that lives in our bodies that can not be combatted with medications. It is nothing worry about to worry and is not transmitted from person to person. In most cases they are as a result of ingrown hairs. You can take antibiotics to dry them up faster though.
